930 Brake kit

I'm doing a little research and might be on the lookout for a 930 brake kit. I'm curious if anyone has gone through this upgrade and can recommend a shop go with.

Any info is appreciated!

Rennsport Systems (a sponsor!) sells 930 kits. http://www.rennsportsystems.com/1-sf.html

Chris' inner voice: "Chris, forget upgrades to the SC. Get an early car."

Yes, and you don't need a shop to do this. Is this for the SC?

Thanks guys. I'm looking at a 3.6 conversion car w/ stock brakes. For the track it needs some sort of upgrade. I've read through Bill Verburg's site and it looks like the 930 kit is the way to go, be it $$.

With the 930 kit, aren't you stuck buying the expensive 930 rotors? If so, that's something to think about...

That's one of the major downsides. I like the idea of the Boxster kit, but there are uneven resutls where the 930 kit seems to be bullet proof.

The car is question is a widebody conversion, so I need to figure out what the best option is. I'm still sorting through the options.

Chris, just go and buy a well used GT3RSR from one of the ALMS or GARRA teasm and have done with it!

Uneven results with the Boxster kit? Please fill me in...that's what I'm planning right now. But I'm getting tired of trolling e-bay looking for a cheap set of calipers.

I dont mean to throw up a flag. I've heard some guys have problems overheating the rotors and some dont. My informal study, more like a guess, says lighter cars with brake ducts should be ok. The heavier the car, without ducts and lots of braking seem to have more issues. Your light car sounds like a great candidate for Boxster setup.

One nice thing about a widebody car is the later rotors, ~$120/ea, can be used instead of the more expensive custom versions. The rears are still $$ because of the machining required on top of already expensive calipers.
