Need pre-75 fan pulley wrench.

Anyone still have their early car's original tool kit? I need to help a buddy change an alternator in a '67S. He doesn't have the tool kit and we need that wrench to get the pulley off. This is the one with the two prongs protruding perpendicularly from the wrench. If anyone has this and is coming to the Curry's tech inspection this Sat., I'd really like to borrow it for a few days. Thanks!

My tool kit will be in the car when I show up for tech. You're welcome to borrow it. I'll bring your floor jack and service cover. Anything else I owe you, RL?

Richard:

I might have one in the parts bin. I'll check. If I do, and I get another "hall pass" after last weekends CR ... I'll bring it to the tech session.

Will your "hall pass" cover 3 days at VIR Jase?

I wish but, sadly, NO. I did have a Sleep Inn reservation that I cancelled a while ago. I am sure it was snatched up in short order.

Might get one more "pass" later this Fall

RL:

I'll still look around for mine if you want.

Yes, Jase, please do. BTW, Jim, isn't the tool for "Lu's car" the same as the one I need?

I think so. That's why I offered to let you borrow it.

Doh! Sorry. I missed your post. I could have used my jack last night. I had to remove a wheel to take to the dealership to inspect the bubble in my tire. I have another floor jack, but it's not low enough for my car, so I had to back onto a Rhino ramp first. I love doing this stuff in a parking lot at night. Garage can't come soon enough!

For future reference, what brand of tire/any idea of cause?

Rick Lee 08-25-2004 11:56 AM

It's a Pirelli Pzero Rosso Assymetrico 285/30/18. Now type that 100 times. No idea of cause, but my friend who happens to be the warranty admin. guy at Porsche of Arlington looked at it and said it appeared to be a factory defect. He later said his boss said I had to take it in for further inspection. These tires are ridiculously expensive, but they're what came on my new wheels.
