911 Piper cage for sale

5 Attachment(s)
This cage was custom built by Piper in my 1970 911. Meets all SCCA/FIA/PCA race requirements. It has NASCAR door bars on the driver side as well as netting. I will include the hollowed out door if you would like it. Drivers side could also be modified with X bars if desired.

It was removed recently and cut flush with the mounting plates. It did need to have sections in the straight runs removed to get the cage out, but all the compression/reinforced areas are fully intact as per the Piper design.

$400 OBO to a fellow racer. Able to be picked up immediately.

What type and size of tubing? What year of car was this in? Any pics of it installed?

The cage came out of my 1970 911 coupe. It should fit in cars between 70-88 since the chassis didn't have any major changes.

Details from Piper invoice:

1.5 X .120 DOM tubing
Safe Quip Window Net
Piper Motorsport Window Net

Fabricate Porsche 911 roll cage, stripped. Two rear straights w/ diagonal. Roof bar. Passenger X door bars. Dash bar. Additional NASCAR style driver door bars.

Here's some more pictures of the cage while installed and a messy garage.

It looks like no classic race cars are being built anymore. :(

Hoping someone has a way to put the high quality steel and construction to good use.

Last bump before it disappears. :(

Fritz, how much does the cage weigh?

Fritz 03-05-2026 06:50 PM

I moved it on my own so it can't be that bad. I'll have to pull it out and weight it sometime to get more specific
