I must have done something to deserve this!

Snag #284.

While putting my cam feed lines back on last night I noticed the fitting in the case above the distributer was loose. Tried to tighten it and found it was stripped. So the case is going back to ASG for a retap and a new larger diameter fitting. This has to be fixed right so I'm relying on the professionals. If I run into one more snafu I'm going to light this thing fire.......with me in it. :x

Look at the bright side:
Good catch! At least you found the problem before you put the engine back in!

Actually they have done this repair with an engine in the car. I'm sure it'll be much easier with my motor out.

1. Think of all that you have learned.
2. Think of all the pain you will save somebody else
3. Think of all the moola you saved
4. Think of the sheet eating grin you will have when you are screaming around with a motor you rebuilt
5. Most of all, think about not having a 911 but instead a Toyota Prius to drive.

All will be right with the world when I turn the key and nothing shoots out of the case.

SRISER 05-13-2004 05:16 PM

1830 still okay?

6: Think about how your stomach will feel when it comes time to turn the key!

Stay strong Ted. These minor set-backs should just be considered preparation for when the big moment comes along ...

... in reality nothing, and I mean nothing, prepares you for that moment as you are turning the key for the first time.

When all is said and done your sense of accomplishment will make you forget all those little snafu's

Good luck Ted! You can always take mine for a spin if you need to satisfy your 911 fix. I'll bet seeing other 911's on the road has you fiending. Hang in there man.

Saw Ted's motor tonight. Looks great. Very minor set back. Once fixed it is going to be sweet. The valve covers and fan are PC'd and are gonna look sick. Nice work Ted.
