Anybody managed to make a parts or customer service connection in ze vaterland?

I have been trying to find trim caps for the roof of my 987.2 Spyder for about four years now. That roof appears to be completely undocumented, those caps are definitely undocumented. And badly glued.

Ive tried:

Many many calls to corporate customer service.
Many many calls and visits to various dealership parts departments.
I have tried to enlist the help of sales managers, general managers, parts managers, service managers. Talked to people from corporate at the track.

Many many many much.

And it’s gotten me absolutely nowhere.

Well that’s not true, our next two cars were going to be a Macan and a Taycan.

Having to rethink that.

The clincher happened today when Jasmine on the customer service desk couldn’t come up with anything useful and yet refused to provide me any contact information for someone I could call in Germany.

Up yours Porsche!

Hard to show you a pic of a part I don’t have and Porsche failed to document.

Sorry, just the facts.

I can show you where it fits....and if what you’re thinking is: Those Zuffenhausen MFrs are so tweaked out on parts interchangeability that they make cars that are completely different, but exactly the same from the A-pillar forward, why then we all know you’re on to something.

I’ll get you a pic but I guarantee you nobody on this board will have seen that trim.

Crap, I though I had some Germany contacts for you, but a Google search resulted in me learning that Bausch + Lomb is actually a Canadian company. Sorry I cannot help after all :oops:

I assume you've looked at the PET diagrams, those would contain the parts that are maybe stocked and order able. Maybe check with other Spyder owners, you can't be the only one with this issue. Unfortunately Porsche only sells some things as a complete unit. Maybe 3D print the part and come up with your own replacement.

You're best bet maybe to find out who made the top for Porsche and contacts them directly.

I've looked, and there is no indication of subcomponent maker for the whole roof. Any ideas?

3-D print? Rapid prototype? Not going there! I'll snailmail mahogany row, Stuttgart. Hell I'll get on a plane. Great beer at Schonbuch in Boblingen. Amazing.

Actually a pretty complex little rubber moulding.

From looking at the PET, that looks like the front seal. It's the front and wraps around each side. Item #2 in the diagram. Part number - 987 567 327 00
