1992 Cup on BaT
Not mine. Unfortunately. This one is going to the moon.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-porsche-964-cup/ Reminds me of a local race car. |

I know the seller. Sorry to see he's letting it go. If memory serves, he bought it a long time ago (05?) , back when they were relatively "cheap" as an old used racecar with no place to run except perhaps PCA. Unique and rare car. Certainly a fun race car. I would expect a large price when all said and done.

What happened to the Amico's ?
|
Been watching also. I'm thinking it has a ways to go before meeting the min bid.
Driver history is here, GTC1, http://rennpoints.com/driverhistory/...=Charlie+Boyer Lots of track records. AFAIK Amico's still have both their 964 and 993 cups. |

I lust after the sound of his 993 cup. Not that I can afford it, but maybe I can steal it when he's not looking... |
I sent this to Bob when I saw it a while back. At one of our DE weekend dinners we got talking about his car and he shared with me the story behind the funky little door mirrors. Most people this they were designed this way for aerodynamics but the truth is Porsche designed them "high and tight" because during the races, the factory mirrors got routinely knocked off from all of the door banging that was going on. Rubbin' is racin' as they say down south....

Careful driving near Bob at next DE...
|
see it was only bid to the $150Kxx or so, way short of the reserve I am sure. Great cars and I have had the pleasure of driving Bob's a number of times ( only at 7 or 8 tenths)
