Calling All Yellow Cars

https://wjla.com/news/local/virginia...or-yellow-cars

TLDR - A soon-to-be four year old kid in Alexandria has Neuroblastoma and loves yellow cars. His 4th birthday is coming up on the 11th of September, and his mom wants to surprise him with a parade of them at 0700. I'll be there with my yellow Xterra, and figured I'd throw it out to the crowd, to see if anyone with a yellow P-Wagen (or anything else) would be willing/able to come out and make a kid's year.

Cool cause.

I used to strap a full child car seat into my 914 when my kids were small; I'd happily give this kid a ride some time. Will see if I can get there for the early morning surprise.

Mine isn't yellow - it can be ketchup in the mustard parade - but if he wants a ride in a red P-car, I'm in Alexandria and happy to take him for a ride anytime he wants.

It's not a Porsche thing -- he is really into yellow cars. I don't know too many owners of yellow Porsches that are still in the area, although I see the occasional yellow Chixster on the road. The early-morning-on-a-workday makes this a little more challenging as well. They wore trying to get one of the cab companies to put the word out so maybe some cabbies will come park. How people are going to score parking spaces along the walking route is another issue -- many homeowners have to keep their cars parked along the way; they can't exactly post notices asking people to move their cars.

Yeah. I'd do it if it wasn't a freakin' Wednesday morning in Alexandria no where close to my house or office.

There used to be a few GT3s and TTs also. Hope someone else (with a cooler car than mine) can make it.

From the limited info available, the boy is into yellow cars and not 'cool cars'. Any yellow car is welcome. There will be no extra appreciation for a GT3 than for a Chixster.

Sorry I've been away for so long. BT has the info right. I'm leaving my P-Wagens at home and taking my yellow Xterra. He just has a thing for yellow cars. Hopefully a few of us can make it out.

Thanks again for looking in!

I read the WP article a few minutes ago -- it sounds like a huge success today, and one very, very happy little boy.
