79SC Brakes 2/8
 

Planning to finish parking brake installation adjustment, bleeding, then moving to front brakes, wheel bearings. Sunday 2/8 beginning at 11AM, Derwood. A few visitors welcome. Parni, how about U? email for directions.

Just curious, but where is Derwood MD? Not sure I've ever heard of that town before.

Between Rockville and Gaithersburg. Shady Grove Metro. Some of the people wanted to call it Rockberg others Gaithersville. Couldn't agree so the Realestate people picked Derwood. It's between King Farm and Redland Station and not far from Hersheys. Confused? Hersheys is a restrurant. :P :wink:

How did the brake job go John? Sorry I couldn't make it, I woke up with a terrible stiff neck that basically immobilized me until yesterday evening.
Doug, Derwood is about 5 minutes away from the Montgomery County Airport and VEIP(emmissions testing place) located off of Shady Grove Rd.

Thanks for asking. Too bad you guys missed a learning experience. While not difficult the process of hooking up the cables to the channel bar was a classic dog screw. The replacing of the shoes was pretty easy once you learn the trick of rubbing your stomach while patting your head. (pun intentional) Back is done, now I am going to do the fronts, both pads and rotors. Watch the project space, I may do them Saturday, if not before. Depends on how my mood is on a given day. Been driving around. The brakes don't squeek and the pedal is firm so I guess that part is ok. Also the pbrake held the car in my driveway and as Pari will tell you, while not a slope in the Himalayas is not bad for Maryland!
