Don't Speed on Route 7

As a now permanent resident of Frederick County, I would like to provide a public service announcement - don't speed on Route 7 on your way to Summit Point.

Loudon, Clarke, and Frederick counties have been engaged in a VERY aggressive and VERY sustained speed enforcement campaign on Route 7 - much heaver and more aggressive than I have ever seen before - and pulling people over for doing as little as 7-10 over. I have already had my annual reminder.

If you're running late for the track, remember a yelling at in the tech line is cheaper than a $200 fine.

Maybe we should consider upping the late tech fee ;)

Good point. We should raise the late inspection donation from $20 to $150, and it will still be a bargain.

I noted John did not float the concept of leaving for the track early enough to make Tech in time... We only will do late Techs once or twice for someone before we make them wait until after the first run session of their group. Tech inspectors need to get their cars ready, attend the meetings and make their run groups, etc. We are not there to do a bunch of inspections for late arrivals due to people being too lazy to get up in time to make it to the track in a timely manner.

You da man DD, just downright rude to be lazy and expect Tech, Registration volunteers to wait on you after the "posted" times.

Winchester is in Frederick County, Va. The OP did mention enforcement increase in Loudoun, Clarke, and Frederick counties, all of which are in the path of many SP travelers.

The confusion is there are two Frederick counties that are on the path to Summit - MD and VA. Most of us in MD drive through Frederick Co MD to get to Summit.
