To lower or not to lower.....
|
Come on Jon, what is this pic a tease? It's like showing just the thigh of a really beautiful girl :D . Where's the rest of your 930S? Do you know it's current ride height? I think it could go a little lower. I need to drop mine a bit too, maybe we could organize a lowering party.

Yep....that tire should be right up the the edge of the fender. Charlie and I lowered my car recently and the lowered stance gives the car a totally different attitude.
Here are some pics: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/mus...ngvu/my_photos |
Nothing like the enthusiasm of the recently converted :D

Actually Charlie has seen the car last weekend. He says it was pretty low already but I think it will look better just a tad bit lower like Vu's car. I attempted to do the front's and it did lower it some but I think I may have to reset the torsion bar since it seems like it was tapping out more on one side. I think I screwed it up as well. I just bought a propane heater for the garage since this cold does not seem to ease up. I may need some help from you guys. These projects never seems to end. Tony, you must know your wheels since you figured they were Kinesis SC from the pic. |
Did someone say lowering party  Sign me up! My rear needs to come down also.

Point:
Lowering looks "kewl" and has aesthetic and genuine performance benefits. Cars came from the factory with to much space in the wheel arches. Counterpoint: Driving on NOVA and / or DC with a lowered P-car (BMW, etc...) SUCKS. I have raised my P-car back up, and am replacing blown out (perhaps worn out as well) shocks/struts on my BMW. I would NOT lower my street P-car unless I was upgrading shocks / strut inserts and torsion bars to compensate for the newly introduced "reduced" suspension travel. Solution: drive an SUV on these crappy roads. My $0.02 worth and probably not worth that. Jase |
Yep. Gotta upgrade at least the shocks and strut inserts. Since seeing you all last at Ted's engine drop, the car has been lowered to 25 front and 24.5 rear. Looks way better. Now it is a "pure" sports car. oh wait, do I need 6 speed for that? Perhaps some solid rear rotors?
Another .5 to .75 outta do it. I have seen your car on the roads. Very sweet. |
