Recaro seat fitting

I'm putting a Recaro SPG Pro Racer Hans in my 1989 944 Turbo S. The options re "tabs or no tabs" on the slider and "inside slider bar" or "outside slider bar" were confusing. Neither the dealers nor the Recaro website were clear, and some of the images on the web are clearly incorrect. Can anyone walk me through how to choose the correct seat mounting accessories and slider? Thanks!

Can you post the link to the website? I've done several seat installs. But would like to see the details. Rather than guess at the terms.

Depends on what adapter plate you are using. Generally in a 944, since the OEM sliders bolt to the floor plates vertically, you will use a square flat metal adapter that will match the oem mounting width to the width of the seat plates. You will need sliders that do not have tabs and have an inside slider bar. Make sure your sliders have locking fingers on both sides. I have seen some sets that only lock on one side and you don't want that in a track car. Tabs by the way are welded on the ends of the sliders and have a couple of holes for adjusting the tilt of the seat and bolt horizontally to the ground.

By the way I have always used oem sliders as they have much thicker metal than most of the aftermarket ones. It will require you to modify them by cutting off some of the extra metal for the seat motors and tunnel side seat belt mount but are rock solid if done properly.
