Where to start 15 year old in Autocross, DE, or Karting near DC?

I know PCA DE rules require drivers to be 18. Are there other clubs or events that allow younger drivers? (I see Timmy Tyrell's son Mini winning LMSC races at age 10 which is absolutely insane. Way to go Mini! So it must be possible.)

Anyone know if any of the clubs allow younger drivers and in what kind of events?

And, no she's not going to start in a 993. More like a Spec Miata or Kart.

I believe NASA allows younger DE drivers; but might need valid drivers license. I think PCA autocrosses allow younger than 18 with valid license, but not 100% sure (it's driven by PCA's insurer)..

Might also want to check on Woodbrige Carting Club. A few local drivers started their careers there.

When I was running Potomac's Autox program several years ago, PCA allowed 16 year olds to Autox with full license (not learner's permit), along with Junior Participant Waivers; one signed by parents and one signed by Junior participant. Unfortunately, it appears that some of the links about the Junior Participant Program (JPP) are not currently working on PCA Potomac's website. I'm going to contact the Autox Chair about updating the website.

I know we had several minors at PCA AX this year. They had to have a full license, and 2-3 forms filled out by parent/guardian as well. They new drivers seemed to have a great time.

My son will be starting next year (age 16).

You need to talk with Steve Wilson. Robbie is doing very well (Robbie is "The Boy" on Dorkiphus). Started young, I believe with NASA but also races with SCCA. Now also PCA (and won the 944 Cup!).

SCCA will allow drivers with a learners permit to participate in a PDX

Extra bummed Allsport closed. My youngest is the same age and had agreed to do their young driver karting school weekend. :(

Our AX program only requires a valid drivers license not a learners permit. If they are under 18 the parent or guardian has to sign a waiver as well. Other than that we would LOVE to have her - this year we had two other 16 year olds participate and it was great to have them out there. I suggest you keep your eyes open for when we post the dates and open registration for the AX School as that is a great starting point.

What is the endgame here: racing or car control ? . If racing, shove her in a kart!
