1999 996 parts for sale
I have a 99 996 that was badly damaged from a deer strike during our August DE at Summit Point. I've decided to part out the car with the exception of the engine and transmission. The deer wiped out the front bumper, hood, windshield, roof, and most of the interior cloth and carpeting. Other than that most of the car is still intact and it's driveable. Interesting, the air bags did not fire and there is not damage to any mechanical, cooling, or A/C systems. Spare tire and original seats (not in the car during the strike) are committed to a Florida buyer. Other than those items everything else is for sale. I'll be attending the Club Race at Summit this weekend so if you need something I might me able to bring it to the track.
Check the edited video of the strike. Fortunately I was not injured but I was completely covered with the deer's blood, remnants of the deer's last meal, contents of the deer's digestive track, and windshield glass. I drove the car into the pits to the suprise of the horrified stewards, medics, and spectators. A lesson to be learned: Keep your visor down. If I had not I probably would have been blinded from all the glass. Thanks, John 703-517-5544 |

This totally sucks - know how awful a deer strike can be based off of my experience last summer. |
First I have heard of the incident. Sorry to learn about it. That is the one event I missed this year.
Glad you are okay. Enjoy your shopping........... |
Sorry to hear about your strike. Unfortunately, Summit offers more wildlife hazards than most tracks.
I need a black 4 spoke steering wheel (non-tip). Please let me know if you have one. Thank you. Marc |
Sorry to hear/see your strike. Glad you're ok. Is the hood badge in good shape?
I'm looking for one in good shape. let me know... thanks, JaxBox |
btw - +1 on the visor being down. i have a crescent moon gouge taken out of mine where the passenger side view mirror impact it during my incident. the eyes are waaay to important to take chances with.
