Mount Tremblant and Barber Motorsports Park
 

Anybody ever driven either of these two circuits? If so, what were your impressions?

Speedvision had coverage from both locations today and each track was simply gorgeous. I know Barber is new (and you've gotta love the 911 and Cayanne displays) but MT has been around for a while.

A group of Potomac drivers went up to Mont T this year. All said that it was a great track and the area was nice as well.

Chatting with my student at VIR - the usual introductory stuff, including what a sweet track VIR is. He asked if I had driven Barber Motorsparts Par in Alabama, which I haven't. He said that Barber makes VIR look like somebody's dairy farm :shock:

Apparently, BMSP is stunning - the track and the facilities are spectacular. So much so that PNA have moved their Porsche Driving Experience school to BMSP. Seems they are repaving some sections of the track for the THIRD time because they are not quite perfect, yet.

Anyone for a road trip this winter???

I have a little video from Barber, courtesy of my instructor from VIR. Digitizing isn't high on the priority list at this moment, due to lack of electricity at home [ I'm at Starbucks ] and 'cause I'm off to Boston in the am. It does look like a very nice track.

8) Six Potomac members participated in Road Trip 2003 to Mont Tremblant. It was a long drive (13-14 hours towing; an on-route overnight stay is suggested), but well worth the trip.

We ran with two PCA regions (Northeast and Rennsport) for 4 days of track time from August 9-12. Most, including your's truly, believe it is (currently) our favorite track. Very challenging, very technical, high speed corners and fantastic elevation change - sometimes all at once!

The track is discretely nestled in midst of vacation country about 90 minutes northwest of Montreal. The track posts an 89 dB noise limit, though they didn't seem to be checking while we were there. Most people stay at the Village of Mont Tremblant, which is four season resort modeled after a European village built onto the base of the ski mountain. There are many restaurants, shops, and numerous activities such as hiking, fishing and great golf courses in the area. Aside from poor spectating opportunities (they don't open the regular spectator areas for club events), the available activities in the area make this the epitome of family-friendly track experiences.

One funny tale: do not, under any circumstances, believe the hotel when they say "Ya, sure. There is plenty of room for your tow vehilce and trailer to park in the secure underground garage"! It is steep, extremely tight and twisting, and three levels down becomes a dead-end! Backing the the rigs back out of same was interesting, eh?

Mont Tremblant is definitely recommended for everyone's must drive list!
