Potomac Swap Meet on 10/19
On page 26 of the current DV there is an advertisement for the annual Potomac Swap meet:
Sunday, 10/19 from 8 am to 3 pm at Dulles International Motors See you there! |
Doug's too modest to note that the DV also has an action photo of himself and the blue goose rounding one of the turns at SP. There's also a photo of two more Dorkis, LeSchander and Riley. Unclear what they are talking about, but I suspect Richard is proposing an engine swap.

I went to the swap meet last fall and thought the turn out was pretty light.
This may have been because of a slight drizzle. Is this turn out typical? |

Actually I think the turnout was light last year because it was right in the middle of the sniper problems in the area. Several vendors refused come out for the event, one arrived with a bullet proof vest (I kid you not!) and I received emails (as pres) from many members expressing concern. Even with the light turnout, I managed to get rid of tons of stuff from the 914 and misc. 911 parts we had sitting around in the garage. I don't think we brought anything back home and we arrived with an Explorer filled to the brim!
Since the 914 evolution has continued this year I'll be back with more parts! See you there. |
Your right, I didn't put the two together for some reason.
I hope to make it! I completed my engine rebuild and will be on to some body work and a paint job. I need a rubber seal kit and some body parts. Are these types of vendors normally at the swop or is it mostly PCA members trading their stuff? |
doc 'n cys usually comes. they carry rubber kits. i suggest you contact them before and make sure they bring your desired part. at least you will save on shipping.

That photo of me in dV has been in several previous issues and is from my very first tech inspection, when David opened my eyes to the realities of Porsche maint. What has transpired since then makes that photo seem like a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Anyone catch the shot of Kurt siphoning brake fluid from my 993? |
Hello to all,
Just figured I'd drop a note saying hi, since I'll be moving to the area soon. I've already asked some of the Pelicanites in here about local p-shops. The swap seems like a good place to start and meet some of you. Looking forward to it. |
Dave--
I've enjoyed your posts on Pelican. Looking forward to meeting you as well. |
