Car wash in Vienna...
 

For years I firmly believed the only self-wash place in the area was on 234 in Manassas. I asked on the Potomac BBS and someone said there was one in Ft. Wash., MD, but otherwise, Manassas was it. Well, last night I stumbled upon a much closer one. The Citgo station on the corner of Blake Ln. and Lee Hwy. in Vienna/Fairfax has two self-wash booths. I don't know how crowded they get, but I'd rather wait in line there than in Manassas.

And for anyone who wants a really awesome and cheap brushless automatic wash, check out the Crown gas station on Franconia Rd. near Van Dorn. I can't drive all the way through it, as their wheel stop is too high for the rear of my car to pass over, but I usually go during off hours and if anyone gets in line behind me, I politely ask them to let me back out when I'm done. I think their deluxe wash is $7 and it really does a great job. I use a chamoiuxuxuxus (sp?) right there in the parking lot before driving home.

Depending where you are, there is also a self-wash place out in Sterling. I don't remember the name of the road but it is off of Sterling Blvd, fairly close to the Rt 28 intersection.

My memory isn't that good but I think there is also a self wash in Merrifield near the Rt 50/Gallows Rd intersection, right by the McDonald's. Maybe someone else can confirm.

I've used the one at Blake Lane and Lee Hwy in Fairfax, right near the circle. But it usually has a looong line.

I guess I got all excited when I saw it was empty, but that was 8:00pm on a very rainy Sunday.
