Nice find, my pedal cluster has been rebuilt with brass

Tore up my floorboards to figure out why my clutch gave way the other day. Considered rebuilding my pedal cluster "while I was there...". After reading 101 on pedal cluster rebuild, one of the parting shots recommending checking to see if it had been done alread prior to taking it on. I looked and sure enough, brass in every fitting and the cluster was in clean shape. The car lacked documentation when I bought it but the more I dig into it the more I get the feel that someone gave it some TLC along the line.

For the clutch problem I had a broke "clevis" or connector that goes from the clutch cable to the pedal assy. I ordered the parts from Autohause (or however you spell it) to try to speed the shipment (3 pieces about $30). Anyone have any experience with these guys?

I normally order everything from Pelican, what's the best places around DC to get parts (good stock)?

Gordo, I buy parts locally from either Dulles International Motorsport (Dave Ocel - 703.471.4499) or Intersport (703.242.8680). I also like to order part by internet through Performance Motorcars http://www.performancemotorcars.com/ They have good prices, fast shipping, and their std. shipping is free for orders over $50. Plus, they run a lot of special promotions where you can get discounts on your orders. I ordered a lot of stuff from them when I was working on rebuilding the suspension for Lu's 73E.

Thanks

Thanks,

By the way, I meant to write I ordered parts from Autobahn, not Autohaus.

Also confirmed my car has turbo valve covers. I thought it did when I first raised it up. Looked closer and sure enough they are the reinforced type.

The upcoming valve job should be interesting. If I don't have any studs drop out I'm going to have to scratch my head and wonder how much work the engine had on it (rebuilt?).

The lack of documentation has me guessing, but still like everything I see and have found.

So far the list of upgrades includes:
-Oil fed tensioners
-Turbo valve covers
-Rebuild pedal cluster.

Is there any sure way to tell if an engine has been rebuilt?
