FS 944 turbo S sway bars $175
1 Attachment(s)
My car is never going back to true stock, so would like to get shed of the original 26.5/19mm turbo S sway bars. In Purcellville, but can meet around the area.
Edit:got the M030 springs and torsion bars, and the top mounts. One is a little loose. Make an offer on the lot. |
Ed,
Are you positive about the diameter of the bars? Is the rear bar adjustable by any chance? |
Well, I just measure 27.5 F 18.5 rear, and have read the spec to be 26.8/18, so they're somewhere around there. Rear definitely not 19mm.
Rear bar is non-adjustable (part of the reason I went to 968 bars). Also have the factory 25.5mm torsion bars and factory progressive springs. Altogether would make a nice upgrade - make an offer for the whole shebang. |
What are the specs on the progressive springs? Are they coil overs or full size?
|
Well, they might be full-size coilovers :-) They're for the fronts - factory Koni M030 struts, with adjustable perches.
Best I can tell from searches they're 150-175 in/lb progressives (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...pert-quiz.html) |
Are these "bolt on"s for a base car? My 87 8V NA will need some attention this winter :( and I am wondering about putting on just Turbo stuff (don't really need killer stiff suspension, but the base car is a little soft)
|
Sway bars and torsion bars, yes. Front springs, no, unless you go to the M030 struts.
But, you'll be replacing shocks anyway by the time you tear everything out, rebuild, and align, right? |

AFAIK the 944 M030s are still rebuilt, as double adjustables. Paragon lists 'em for sure, Truechoice probably also does the work (maybe does for Paragon, come to think of it).

Still here, at some point will become fodder for the forge, which isn't a terrible fate but better on someone's car.
