17 Best tracks in the US

Saw this article in a BMW link. I thought it was interesting. Because of my recent move to the Heartland (e.g. Kansas City), I have actually driven seven of the seventeen (Hallett, Road America, COTA, Mid Ohio, Watkins Glen, Daytona and VIR).

I imagine Eric S and a few others can claim more (Canadian and west coast tracks), I think it fun to see what the Dorki poll is.

As an aside, I found this amusing poster which depicts several of the noted tracks around the world (including Summit):

David,

Back to Hallett in two weeks. Really a fun track. Short but good elevation change. Great track facilities, Only 3 1/5 hours away.

Cool poster!

Any "favorites" list is highly subjective as to what best suits the driver and the car. This list omitted Canadian tracks; had they been included, Le Circuit Mont Tremblant and Mosport would both have been rated high on the list.

So far I've driven 20 different circuits at 14 different facilities, only 8 of which are on this list. I have plans to drive four more at some point with COTA at the top of the list, followed by Daytona, Sebring and Lime Rock. Indy is rare/impossible to get time on and the new configuration doesn't look that interesting anyway; the others in Utah and California are probably too far away to be feasible. European tracks are beckoning at some point; Spa tops my track bucket list, followed by Nurburgring. Now that would be a road trip! ;-)
