1986 911 carrera 3.2 bore size
Hello folks,
I have been tearing down a 911 3.2 cleaning, buying parts and tools for the rebuild for quite some time now. I purchase a piston ring compressor that was lest than I expected, and would like to replace it with a tapered type piston installation tool. Can someone agree that the standard bore on a 3.2 911 non turbo is 95.mm. or if someone knows a stock number or supplier for the tapered tool. I see one for a 96mm on ebay and wonder if that will work ok.. :? |
Yes, stock is 95mm. I used a band type compressor with an allen key type ratchet to compress the rings when I installed mine without problems. I think it was about $25.

Thanks for the confirmation Chris. The item I see on ebay is for 38.usd. and my reading up on the use make the tool quick and simple to use. The seller answered back my question and says that 96mm will not work, but he can get a 95mm. Thanks again.. John

Charles Navarro at LN Engineering has them and they are a joy to work with.

Thanks for the point Martin. I did some more searching and got one from JEGS for $39. and free shipping. JEGS 926-RCS09500 RING COMPRESSOR SLEEVE.. Seem a very exacting tool
with each being 1mm between sizes.. |
