Craigslist:: MECHANIC WORKSHOP FOR RENT
who's with me? Dorki Garage?
if we got 20 city-dwellers with limited space, would be $50 a month for storage, wrenching, etc... http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/m...584932103.html |
Make sure it's not a scam, I have had Real Estate listings that were for sale scamed as rentals. Seems awfully cheap for that area

That's very near my home - and not an area I thought of as commercial. Sounds great if it's real (even is just a place to leave a trailer, but for a race car...sounds like a great deal and count me in).

I'm interested in an arrangement like this... a spot to wrench a few days a month.
|
Google Maps shows all houses in that area... Maybe someone fixed up their garage and now want to rent it out? If this is 'real' it's likely violating some zoning laws, and chances are the locals will not appreciate 20 different 'co-renters' coming and going.

Haha, sure. But you want to have to do that on top of the work on your own cars?

if 10+ people are seriously interested
there's often a few smaller (3-6 bay) shops available for sale in the Baltimore area for less then $150k. I almost purchased one last year that was less then $70k (only one operating lift conveyed in the sale) for similar use. If buying the key is to have other users pay their monthly rent in the form of a membership dues for the purpose of liability insurance.
I ultimately scrapped the idea, even though I intended to do it for fun and to have a play to wrench, watch races and hang out as a few close friends that aren't car guys laughed at the idea of what they considered a "garage timeshare" as one put it. |
^^ yep. I'm looking at a few too. Some are fully equipped for just over 150K or others cheaper empty. It's not a bad deal for 4000 sqft in the city. Prob is most are in the ghetto.
