Evo track battle: 991c2 v M4
|
So much less steering input on the 911.
He would love the 911 even more if the throttle wasn't being managed for him. Beautiful track! Let's do a DE there! |
FTS needs to watch this!!!
|
Ironic that the M4 is more likely to oversteer than the 911, and yet still has corner entry understeer issues. PCNA should be giving this video to every punter who walks into the showroom.

The M4 is so far from the Porsche performance, it is not even debatable. The weight distribution is screwed up (52% front) and CG is too high compared to Cayman or 911. But this won't deter me from getting one :p The price difference is not even funny; fully loaded M4 is about $10K cheaper than reasonable optioned Cayman GTS and $15K less than similarly optioned 911 C2, I am OK being couple of seconds off at the track, I'll just get some 11" wheels and 305 tires for the rear of the M4  Order in place, hopefully should be here in November. |

and it's not just that the M4 is a 3 series with some great improvements and the 911 is a sports car...as a few who have driven my 991c2 with 7MT on the track have told me, it's a more than capable platform for track use even w/out PDK. the longer wheelbase and wider front track are clearly a big step on for the platform on the track. it's hilarious to me that other forums dismiss 991s save Sw/powerkit and PDK or GT3 for the track, when the simpler/lighter/manual c2 is clearly the way to go for the new generation :D though I am clearly biased. |
