Looked to me like he dropped two and had to get off brakes to regain control but then had no chance to slow the car enough.

Bob, you nailed it. I'm friends with both the owner of the car and the guy driving his car at the start of the enduro. If you look in the review mirror of the driver in the video posted, you can see he put two wheels off under braking and didn't scrub enough speed. It was way aggressive move and could have easily been avoided.

Fortunately, all involved are fine, a little bruised but nothing major. The purple M3 is totaled with serious frame damage.

Looks like he had two wheels in the grass mixed with getting in too hot. I recognize several of the cars in the video.

Also wonder why the camera car appeared to be going so much slower than those around him.

The driver whose name is on the car (not sure if he was the driver at that point) was in my NASA race school and was a quick driver.
