964 alternator rebuild- easy
 

for those 964's with alternator problems and your thinking of getting yours rebuilt or buying a reman, the link from Pelican is great for walking you through rebuilding it yourself. I did it this past weekend, it was easy, solved my problems and saved me some money.

where I got parts-
NAPA- VR w/brushes and bearings (total 65 bucks)
Arlington Armature- plastic bearing retainer, capacitor and had the slip rings turned (total 26 bucks)

probably could have gotten all the parts from Arlington though

I replaced the fan hub bearing a couple of years ago..

anywho's it was pretty straight forward the biggest PITA was getting the unit out and putting it back in, the rebuild was cake
