Fiance says I need professional help...

Hi,

My name is Chuck and I have 300 porsche magazines, books and catalogs scattered throughout the house. My fiance says that I need professional help, is there someone that can help?

On the other hand she has too many shoes. For those that have dealt with these issues, please share some advice...

Chuck

Welcome to the board Chuck.

Well, you made your first contribution to the board, knowingly or not. I created another forum for OT/misc. items as this topic did not look happy in its original home. He should be happier here.

BTW, she's great:

Dr. Linda Frey
Silver Spring MD.
301-949-8822

Chuck,

I know what you mean. I've got magazines stacked by the bedstand; 911 World, Excellence, GT, 356 Registry, PCA stuff and so on. Wife wonders why I would ever read a magazine more than once. She just doesn't GET it!

Here's a trick I've learned that's worked with Dawn so far. Find a few magazines she likes and subscribe to them FOR her. She'll never complain again bacause when your magazines arrive so will hers.

Sounds like with 300 magazines you already passed over the threashold of pain a while back. Though she won't admit it, she's probably already accepted your addiction.

Hello, my name is Keith and I'm a Prosche addict...

That does sound like a good trick. She gets Martha Stewart and Bon Appetite. Funny thing she doesn't keep a Martha Steward house and she can't cook. :( I guess it's like the Porsche addiction....I like to read about the Boxter and 996, but couldn't afford to actually go out and get one. Such is life.

Oh well. Spring targa driving season will be upon us soon.[/quote]

Chuck,

That 69 3.0 will be some sweet ride when you get the transplant complete. What's the prognosis, was it a lot of work? Be driving it this spring?

Solution

Hey Chuck,

Here's what I'd do:

1. Pick out a bunch of magazines that have low 911 content (i.e. mostly Boxters and 914s).
2. Build a big bonfire with the sacrificial magazines.
3. Throw your fiance's shoes on top of the bonfire.
4. Tell her you have a lot more magazines where those came from, if the subject comes up again.

TD
Currently Porsche-less (but looking) and wife-less (but not!)

Tony, I'm not sure if you're brave or crazy. :P
Still, it's an interesting suggestion.
