No dogs allowed.....at The Glen

All,

We were planning to bring our new greyhound, Nigel, to The Glen, but have just learned they don't allow
dogs (or other animals) on the track property....well, except for Service Dogs....and you apparently have
to have paperwork to back that up.

Figured I'd get the word out if any of you were planning to bring a dog
or other animal with you.

Anyway - I guess Nigel will make his debut at Summit Point in July.

Thanks,

Jim

PS> I even told them he was named after Formula 1 Champ Nigel Mansell (that's actually true!) and that didn't help at all.

Is Nigel a rescue or a pup?

PS: There was/is an infamous track photographer who has a doctor's note saying that he (or his wife) needs a dog around to relieve stress.

(I love when people say it's an adopted dog -- as if anyone actually gives birth to their dog.)

He's a rescue. Less than one month off the track. He's 3 1/2 years old.

Still getting his bearings, but has the makings of a great dog.

His race name was "Santan Sidelight" - he raced in Mobile, Alabama. 98 races and no wins, unfortunately.
We think they used him as a "sprint dog" which means he was fast out of the gate, but would run out of gas towards
the end. So...his owners put him in the field to try and get the other dogs to chase him and also tire out.....it's one
way of manipulating the outcome of the race, I guess.

He definitely likes to run - and he's bigger than our last dog. As some of you might know, we were planning to wait a
little longer, but my wife found him, fell in love.....and you know the rest.

It certainly does!! WG has very little grass in pit area. Lots around the part though

Must be a new rule as I've had my dog there many times last year was the last time I believe

Not sure. It's not really a big deal - as I said we didn't expect to have a dog this soon anyway.

Pics coming soon.

Congrats on the new dog!

I'm hoping this Nigel is nicer than the original?
