I love this car, but I just don't have the funds to restore it and I have other projects. This is a running and driving car that has needs. I drive it 2 or 3 days a week. Firstly, there is rust. Unless you have a healthy checkbook or some skills, this car probably isn't for you. The rust is in the front floor pans the front part of the rockers and the fender tops in the engine compartment. It was originally an automatic car painted in a rather ugly gold. It is now a period correct BMW blue color and a 5 speed. The engine runs strong, and has triple Weber 45's, a header, and a big Schrick cam. The interior wood need to be refinished - I was going to try doing a thin metal or metal look vinyl on the blanks - I think it would give it a more sporty feel. Just did the rear brakes. I have lots of parts including: new front seat upholstery, the front bumper and some extra bumper parts, front air dam, CSL fiberglass dash, two front strut assemblies, rear subframe from a CSL including the limited slip diff, complete set of spare glass excluding the door vent windows, spare gauge cluster, supplemental VDO gauges to go in the CSL dash, tail lights, door striker trim, horns, turn signal stalk, etc... I would say there is about $4000 worth of parts if you were to buy them new/separately. I also have an M30B34/35 that could be had for additional cost.
I suppose you could restore this car, but I think it would make a great event car or a vintage race car. I prefer cash and I think this is a fair price for what I am offering. CL limits me to 4 pictures, but I am happy to take more. just let me know. Or come see it in person.

Love those cars! Reminds me of one I see in Gordonsville when driving though.
If I had all the time and money in the world...

That is me! I am the one in Gordonsville.

You should submit your ad to Bring-a-Trailer.. they like these old BMWs and obviously, wide reaching audience for you.

GLWTS!

No thanks on the Bring a Trailer site. I used to really like that site. I still go there, but it is very different than it used to be. There are more and more checkbook mechanics and guys that moan because a 40 year old car doesn't have air conditioning. I try not to read the comments too much as it just starts getting to me. I am likely to post something I will regret later. That and they want to charge you to post it now. I have it on a few other forums and whatnot. There is some interest.
