911 aftermarket alarm removal

I have been removing old aftermarket alarm system from 76 911S. Thought I was careful about clipping wires recklessly but.... Now cannot get fuel pump to run at start-up or ever for that matter. Replaced fuel pump relay thinking I may have shorted it out.....(now I have the negative wire on the battery disconnected while I work;)Thanks!

I have just removed an aftermarket alarm from my 86 911, jazzbass was very helpful with my work. See: DME relay Explained, and DME colour coding for a start. I found that wires were relocated in the fuse box to accommodate the after market alarm. I still am not getting power to DME relay pin 86 from pin 15 of the factory alarm, which is required in order to fire up the fuel pump. Assumption; faulty alarm module.

Thanks, Bird watcher! Very helpful. But as an electronic newbie, what are the "pin 15" and DME relay Pin? Is pin 15 in the fuse block? Where is the DME on a 76 911? Thanks for your help.

You don't have a DME or DME relay. That started in 1984. You have the old CIS fuel pump circuit. If you can wait a bit, I'll post explaining exactly how the CIS fuel pump circuit works. Got some work stuff/taxes to do first, though.

Cut the red wire. NO! Cut the blue wire...
