996 oil pan - Loctite 5900 or other?

Hi all, I'll be changing my refreshed engine's break in oil soon and am told to use Loctite 5900 for making the gasket (sparingly). Is this the only acceptable material or can I use something else?

I used permatex this fall when dropped the pan (installed the IMS guardian).
I have had no issues.

Thanks. I sourced some 5900 so hopefully it arrives in time for my "996 upgrade" weekend.
