PCAP Tech Session -- March 24, 2012 (for 3/31 - 4/1 SP DE)

The first Tech Session of 2012 is now upon us!

Come on out to Sportscar Shop in Sterling, VA on Saturday, March 24, 2012:

http://www.sportscarshopinc.com/

45759 Elmwood Ct, Suite 150
Sterling, VA 20166

2012 PCA Potomac Tech Form

The Tech hours are 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Even if you are not participating in the DE, please feel free to come on out and spend quality time with some track nuts, and check out a lot of cool cars. And we'll even put your car up on a lift and check out the condition of the braking, steering and suspension systems.

While this is our first event at this shop, they have been gaining Porsche experience through Spec Boxster support and are currently developing a motor rebuild program for 996s. In addition to auto repair and race car setup, the shop also boasts a club membership program, where members can utilize their lifts and tools for DIY projects. This includes access to a body shop area and paint spray booth.

So come on out and check out this shop, and spend some time talking to the owner about racing (he runs w/ SCCA), Porsches and the DIY aspect of his operation.

Please note you must arrive by 1:30 pm if you need a tech inspection for the DE. Late arrivals (after 1:30 pm) must donate $20 to PCAP's charities. If you arrive later then 1:45, we may not be able to tech your car, as we need to be cleaned up and out of the garage by 2:00 pm.

** UPDATE (March 22) ** We should have 4 lifts available. There may be an opportunity for DIY work such as brake pad replacement and oil changes if the lifts are not in use by the Tech Team, but you must be a club member to be eligible. The shop owner will be available to discuss the benefits and fee structure of the club.

Hope to see you there!

The lifts are first come, first serve for DIY right? I'm hoping to have time to change my Cayenne's oil, but if anyone has experience with them I don't mind a hand.

Yes, first-come, first-served for DIY lift time.

Ken -- I jumped the gun on this one. In keeping with the spirit of the Sportscar Shop's business model, DIY lift availibility will be limited to club members. However, interested parties will be able to join the club at the Tech session.
