"Blackbird" Project

After long researched I decided to change the look on my 1983 911 SC similar to ruf ctr's. I recently purchased from Betterbodies.com the BB RS Yellowbird kit which includes the front and rear bumpers. In addition, I purchased 993 aero mirrors.

My car is a black coupe and I have seen a few SCs and Carreras with the same kit and the car looks extremely nice. It also takes off some weight off the car after the front and rear bumper removal.

The 993 mirrors were my personal choice and they are a direct fit. All parts must be prep and pre-fitted prior to final installation. For the rear license plate lights, I purchased the 911/930 ruf style lights ($95.00 bucks).

Disassembly and pre-fitment to follow within the next few weeks. I am just waiting for a few parts to come in on the mail and to clear out my garage out of all my boxes (We recently moved in).

WTD: I would add some 17" wheels. ruf, kinesis, BBS LM, REPLICAS ARE OK.

I will have the side mirrows, front and rear bumpers with the front valance, etc... for sale pretty soon. I may even sale my 16" fuch wheels with new tires if I found some new 17s.

If anyone is interested on showing up to see and or to help with the installation just let me know. The date is within the next couple of weeks and once I receive the additional parts.

Pat Williams Racing did one several years ago. Go to his website and look under cars and projects. You will see the yellow CTR. Used a 84 chassis with a turbo motor.

I just got of the phone with the folks at better bodies in California. They will be fabricating a pair of air ducks to replace the two front fog lights. The kit actually uses the 1984-1989 fog light assembly and my car is an 83 (SC). So needless to say it will actually work in my benefit to use the air ducks instead, cooling purpose and looks. Check the attached pictures of what I want to do. The red 911 has the 993 aero mirrows. I will check Pat Williams postings:

The black 911 sc is mine before it was re-painted.

Old news Papi, we did one several years ago also on an 83. Owner wanted the later style "Bi-wing" and Strosek style rockers. Bumpers were from BW Motorsport and were very good quality. Car is original color Hellbronze metallic. Think the car is currently having another engine upgrade done.

Sorry for the poor quality pic (actually a pic of a photograph)

Good luck and have fun with your project!

This car looks great. What kind of wheels are on this picture?

Looks like a fun project. If you are pulling off the rear valence I am in the market for one.

Thanks, it was fun to do.. The wheels are by FRH or ARTEC, can't remember which, they are true 3pc wheels however.
