Wanted: Inexpensive, reliable car

Howdy,

We're looking for an inexpensive, reliable car. Needs to be automatic trans and functioning a/c. Prefer 4-door, but a 2-dr would be okay if it has a big back seat (needs to be able to haul at least 4 people).

Not too picky about brand. Would prefer something less than 10 yrs old, but will consider older if in really nice shape. Looking in the $5K or less range.

Please email or PM if you have a candidate or a lead.

Thanks!

I know of a 1994 Toyota Corolla w/low miles, 1 owner. I'll pm.

I am looking for same deal. $5k, pretty much anything that is Japanese. Needs to be low maintenance. Friend has no repair funds to speak of.

If the Toyota is still there, let me otherwise. Otherwise, bump for new candidates!

How about a 924?

I continue to be a believer in the Ford Focus. Here's a link from Car.com of Foci available in the area for under $5K.

2001 infiniti Qx4 w/ ~154k

Good running shape with some body work possible (running boards have rusted off)
-AC good
-Seats 5 w/ some storage

Carmax appraised 4K recently but I'll entertain offers.

As far as I know the Toy is still available.

Thanks for the help, advice and offers. But, we've (finally) found a car -- an '03 Pontiac Grand Prix (aka "the barge"). Not the fanciest thing around, but reasonably solid and works fine for hauling the kids around.

So, we can close this thread, unless brianr needs/wants more help.

Yes, still looking.
