2007 997s

All,

My buddy is looking at this car and is fairly new to the Porsche family. Any advice besides the usual PPI compression test etc..Anything to look out for or personal knowledge of this type of car. Is the price too high. Anybody that is near by and could look at it...

Also a good place for a PPI would also be appreciative...

Here is the one he is looking at..

Many thanks..

Well, treat it like a 996 as it has all the same potential problems, m96 motor, tranny, etc. Price seems right for a dealer. FWIW, he could buy an early 996 gt3 or turbo for that money, easily. (more durable drivetrain, well, and FASTER)

Get one of them "rev count" read outs or whatever the new cars call 'em. Tells you how many times/types of redline trips the motors seen. Didn't check the link.. Porsche dealer (ie, CPO).. if not, consider a quality "aftermarket" warranty for items that Wemple mentioned.

Hate to hijack, but do you know of an honest aftermarket warrantee co. Still looking.
