Intro & Delaware PCA Annual Pre-Columbus Day DE invite..

Hey Guys:

Mostly a lurker here but have been reading the Forum for a few years now. Have enjoyed it and have learned much. Given the distance and the fact that I am without trailer and rig, I have not joined up as I have not come down your way from the southern NJ area yet. That said, your seasons a bit longer so I will be doing so in the next year/s...

Since our season is shorter, I also wanted to invite anyone that feels like a drive/ride up to the above Event. Some of you may know the Track Team: Tom Holmes, Mark Weining, and Chris Brady, from PCA Racing. We are especially interested in instructors (as is everyone :)) and offer a nice deal. Advanced guys will find a lot of track time esp on the first day - If you have not been to NJMP, or spent limited time there, this is a nice opportunity to get to really know the track. And instructed groups have liked the extended runs as it tends to string out the traffic opening up the track a bit. If anyone needs more info, or contact info, just let me know!

Here are the particulars (which I posted on Rennlist):

Its getting to that time of year again NE'ers. Fall, shorter days, track season ending. But, and on the other hand, its our area's nicest weather and some of the best DE days of the year...

So,.... the Delaware PCA is returning to NJMP, Thunderbolt, for its annual three day DE on October 8th , 9th, and 10th , 2010.

For those in the instructed groups, this is a good chance to learn with some of the best instructors around. In the past Delaware has had longer sessions, usually 25 minutes or more. The nice thing is it lets everyone get into a rhythm and separate a bit - we have had a good amount of positive feedback from the instructed groups ..

For the advanced groups, there will again be an initial open lapping day in addition to the above schedule for the following 2 days. As in the past, on Friday there will be 2 run groups alternating on the half hour. Lots of track time, and a good value, especially for those that can do the 3 days!

Like the past 2 years, it will be a fun, fast, well run event, with plenty of track time, and a Saturday evening Lobster* & Dancing-girls** Banquet thrown in. To be sure we have enough of both ;), please sign up/register by Sept 1, 2010 if at all possible!

Registration is open now at Motorsport Reg: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...6C36716B5F710C .

Come on out and post up if you are !!!

:)
* Well not really Lobster, but its good food and, better yet, free with admission

** Well, again, not really. While they wont listen to me and hire FredC-approved Casbah girls, last year a Bikini basketball game did break out on the TV monitors just as the Track Chair was thanking all,so.... :D . At least that is what I think he was doing .... I dont think anyone heard a word he said.

Can you clarify: Is this a three day event for instructed groups?

x2. Friday is for advanced drivers only, but lots of track time on Sat and Sun, and a very nice venue. Delaware region only has the one event, and they do a very nice job with it.

Thx, guys - Great to know you enjoyed and thx for the kind words.

Rich: Yes, the first day is solo/advanced drivers. The two following days include instructed groups - the green group and the blue group.

Our board will have to make a go/no go decision within 2 weeks. If we cancel we still lose our deposit, which is more than $10K, but that would be still better then losing 16. If we lose that kind of money you can bet that would be the end of Delaware region ever putting on another DE.

So, like the OP said, now's the time to support your smaller regions. Ask any of the attendees from our previous DE's. A relaxed, fun weekend with lots of track time on one of the nicest tracks in the East.

So I would encourage all of you, who are even barely thinking about coming to our event, to sign up now. We need to show to our board that there is a need and desire for this event and that we won't lose our region's shirt. We especially need instructors - who habitially sign up late, I'm know I'm guilty myself - to sign up now, because as a smaller region, we just don't have enough inhouse to put on the event.

Quick event details: Oct 8-10th, Friday adv group only - open track day, Sat/Sun all groups, open to non-PCA members and non-Porsches. Instructors only $100 for the weekend, and $200 for all 3 days. More details on motorsportsreg.com.

As always, feel free to ask me any questions about the event. Thanks!

I'm signed up for this, but it doesn't look like a lot of other names I recognize. Anyone here planning to go?

I'm hoping to get confirmation that I can get away that weekend and plan to attend. It was an excellent event in 2008 even with it just being two days instructed. I'm looking forward to all three this year.

Great event, fun track, well organized, went the last two years and Friday especially is a marathon session! Hope it works out for them.....

Is it a help if I can come just Saturday? I really want to hit NJ this year but I have plans Sunday and another track event the next weekend.

Welcome to the nuthouse.

Really inexpensive for instuctors...$100 for 2 days or $200 for 3! That's a steal....
