Done it with my SC. No issues.

I bought a used B&B SS muffler for my Carrera from either Pelican or Rennlist. There's a bit more security in buying from a forum vs the open internets, but generally it's just a case of getting good recents pics of the thing you are buying.

For a cat bypass its not really much of a risk, right?

Cut the old hardwear off, use new then no issue. Most states have a provision for roadside testing for safty and emissions. That said the current economy will likely prevent much stopping unless car is smoking badly and the cop is truely bored.

they now have roadside scanners that can pinpoint smoggers and photo the plates. I shit you not. One rig was set up on 495 between 236 and Braddock road a while ago.

What if you live in Fauquier where there is no Emissions inspection req?
Fairfax going to send you a ticket?

Yep, I bought then sold a euro exhaust for my turbo. Bit of bear shipping but good transactions. That was back in the good old days of Rennlist circa 2002.
