Anyone attend the NASA TTs last weekend?

I am curious about the 2 werkstatt SpecBoxsters that attended and if there were any other SpecBoxsters there? #186 and #187.

The times I saw online never got better than 1:28.3 and 1:29.1 and everyone else was about as fast as ever.

Drivers? or Cars? is what I am trying to figure out from anyone who was there.

Thanks!

I was there on Sunday spectating. The Boxsters sounded fantastic and looked very well prepared. I was very interested since they had GTS2 on the sides of their cars. :)
Since there were a lot of great times ( Wonger 120.8 and Patrick 944na 127.3 ) I would say that the track and overall conditions were fast thus
their times would be disappointing.

Yup, saw those times, thus trying to get info on the drivers. I met Kenny from Werkstatt on Fri when he was dropping off the cars and chatted for a bit.

It is unusual that the results haven't been posted yet :(

What was Wonger driving?

His M3 w/ a slipping clutch is what I think he set the 1:20.8 TTA record in. He borrowed a vette for other run.

I would think a 1:28 in a spec boxster has to be the driver?

I plan to verify before I spend any of my $$ :)

The last place I got times for SpecBoxsters was NJMP and they ran 944Cup times there with supposedly top drivers. Now, the first time anyone runs them at Summit and we get 1:28s. Not very encouraging.

If they were doing super cup numbers than that would be encouraging.
Are they really trying to be a dual class car ? ( spec Boxster and GTS2 ?)

Based on this years numbers you have to be doing 126's to 127's depending on conditions to be really competitive in GTS2.

spec boxster vs SpecE30 (1:27). +30 hp, -100# w/ driver, better brakes, bigger tires, better suspension setup, not super nose heavy = Should be quite a bit faster. A LSD is prob the E30s only advantage on paper but I suspect a 2.5L boxster really doesn't need one.
