DYNOS & LIFTS FOR Charity
""The PCA Potomac Region and Curry's Auto Service Inc. at 1510 Moran Road, Sterling, VA will co-host DYNOS & LIFTS FOR CHARITY on Saturday October 18, 2008. Curry's Auto Service is graciously donating the use of its' 8 lifts, as well as its' four wheel (for both two wheel and four wheel drive cars) dynamometer to the club from 9:00am-3:00pm. Also, Curry's will have mechanics on-hand to offer pointers, help with minor repairs, and even perform alignments and service (for an extra charge). ""
I got an e-mail about this some time ago, but don't think I saw a thread here. I have a slot at 9:00 am and Chris (JazzBass) follows. My intrest is to help diagnose some Montronic Issues along with to see what it will pull. Anybody done this before? How does it work? If I want to log A/F and other data do I need to arrange in advance? I do plan on going really early. |
I don't know how this event handles things, but last dyno I went to, I took a USB memory stick with me and downloaded the results. Then I went to the website for the dyno once I got howm and downloaded their reader software. This allowed me to graph all the data and play with the output, etc. I sent it to Steve Wong and got my chip updated to optimize my A/F.
Not sure if this event allows the download but I plan to bring a USB chip with me and maybe a floppy in case they are using some ancient computer. If they have internet, they could also email the file to you... |
Last time I did this it was two pulls back to back. No time for adjustments between. If you want to make changes you might want to sign up for 2 different times. Still, $80 isn't bad for two pulls.

Thanks.
I know of only one thing to adjust on the montronic. Thats the A/F screw. My conversion harness. (I made it.) Doesn't have a OBD socket. I do have the loose wires and could make one. I'm doing some testing of the individual sensors one at a time and hopefully the dyno (A/F readings) will help confirm what's going on. Is there someone over there that I can talk to in advance of the event to ask some questions? |

Got a slot ~11:30ish! Link on PCAP site didn't work but e-mailing the contact did. Heard there was still some AWD slots open in the afternoon. BTW having the car dynoed every few years is a great way to stay on top of issues. If nuthing else it lets you know if you are getting slower or the car needs some work :( Thanks for the heads up Bill, would have missed this otherwise.
