7R wheels by Weidman's

4 Attachment(s)
I bought 4 6x15s Fuchs and sent them to Weidman's (in February!) to be converted into a pair of deep offset 7x15s (aka 7R). The wheels finally arrived today. Part of the delay was due to a mistake at the shop. The wheels were ready to go, but were mistakenly blasted to be refinished - which I hadn't requested. They found another set that turned out looking much nicer than what I had sent them. I'm sure they sold the first set for a tidy sum.

They wrapped and/or painted the outside of the weld in rubber. The weld itself looks very nice from the inside (though I'm not qualified to comment). Porsche measures width and offset relative to the inside of the rim lips, so the 5.5" backspace looks to be there.

Might get tires on'em next year

Nice! Do these still fit into the engine upgrade package? Hoosier has some interesting sizes in 15" but what tyres were you going to use?

Yes, these are part of the "upgrade package" ...

225-50/15 RA-1 was the plan, and probably what I'll end up doing, but I'm re-evaluating.

We run 225/45 15 Hoosier R6 on our enduro car.

$100 a rim? If so, that may be an alternative to the 16 x 8 dilema. (Ok so you'd have to run spacers as the offset goes the wrong way)

I need to do this. :)

I have some 7X15 ... think I'll send them off.

Who knows ... might work a deal if you want mine after Weidman's treatment.

Look good. :)

I think thats quite reasonable, I thought it was much more. A nice pair of real 7R wheels can cost 5K.

So if I send him 4 flat sixes to semi polish and paint I bet it would cost a good bit less because of the no welding. Any idea on turn around time?
