Anyone need an ex-cop?

After applying to a job for a federal agency and going through all the steps for the hiring process which included testing, multiple interviews, polygraph, background and medical screening. And passing everything I got a swift kick to the balls the other day when they told me no. Not much of a reason just I wasn't the strongest applicant. The whole process took over a year and thankfully I was working but now I have reached the promotion potential of my current job and I need to move on. There's just not a lot of room for advancement where I am currently and I don't like the work.

I'm currently in the GS system and I'd like to stay just not in this hamster wheel I have been in. I have 5 years law enforcement as a deputy sheriff, my BS and my MS in CJ, and I've been here for a little over a year. I work for one of the alphabet agencies now, but I am looking to go elsewhere. All my work here has been computer related but I am a basic user, I am by far not an IT guy. I've applied all over usajobs but as my one buddy put it "That's like driving down the interstate at night and throwing your resume out the window".

If anyone has any openings, suggestions, tips, tricks or anything I'd love to hear them.

Don't we have enough cops on this board?

I should have stated that I don't really want to go back to uniform.

Also I don't think my wife would like it if I was a giggilo. Of course if the clients were like those on Duece Biggalo I don't think I would like it either.

Did you get the clearance during the process...and if so what...where are you located and where do you want to work..Which alphabet soup would you ber interested in or do you really care....and if you got a clearance what would you like to try IT etc...more info needed the DC area is very wide and client base is also just as wide..Higher the clearance higher the pay and larger alphabet soup...
