F/s '89 944 N/a
 

I'm selling my bone stock '89 944. Color is white w/dark blue interior. Original paint in great shape. No rust. There are a few dings.

Engine has 127k. Head rebuild @ 115k with new valves, guides & seals. New belts at the same time. Engine runs strong and does not smoke at all. Front wheel bearings replaced at the same time as head work.

Have original window sticker.

Clutch and/or throw out bearing have been chattering since I bought the car. No slippage or engagement problems but a clutch is in it's future.

Tranny shifts flawlessly.

Interior is a 9.5 (only because of the normal cracks in the dash). Seats are electric and in perfect condition as is the rest of the interior and carpet. Has original OE electric tire inflator. Has electric heated mirrors that work with rear window defogger.

Problems: A/C is out. Holds freon but compressor will not run. Sunroof works on and off. Heater stays on all the time. Passenger electric lock does not work.

UPDATE: Shorted the low pressure switch and the Compressor came to life. Couldn't do anything else today. Either low on freon or pressure switch is bad (140 to replace).

Extras: new rotors/pads, front and rear, water pump, CV boots, Idle control valve, oil filters and some others.

I would like to get $3500.00. If not I'll part it out.

what do you think would be involved in fixing the constant heat problem?

On my 87 it involved replacing the heater control valve. Simple 5 min. job, and cheep part.

It's either a little plastic clip under the driver's side dash, relay or valve.

It's not the main control as I replaced it without fixing the problem.

You can check the valve easily. Just supply a constant vac. sorce to the vac port on the valve. About 20 inches should do it. If you still have heat, you need a vlave. It should also pull the little arm when you add the vac.
Or simply wait until you blow a coolant line, the heat will eventually go away. :)
