Garage Tour?

A (very) long time ago, I went on a garage tour with my dad. We drove around to maybe 5 or 10 different private garages to see how local PCA members stored/maintained their vehicles. Lots of really cool setups and décor. I think it was with the Chesapeake region of the PCA. That was a lot of fun.

Does that still happen in this area?

If so, we would be happy to be one of the stops, if anyone would find our garage of interest.

I remember that weekend and visited a few cool garages myself. May have been Potomac Region who organized.

However, for whatever reason, I think that event never happened again..

We're talking 30 years ago. If that's the one you mean, then you probably remember my dad's silver 912. Everything seems so much better through the lens of memories :)

We could always just do a "Dorkiphus Garage Tour".

Chesapeake still does these. They are called Garage Crawls. Just did one a month or so ago. Send an email to tech@pcachs.org. Jim and Randy organize them. Very popular, well organized and great to see all types of garages.

We did one in Potomac around 16 years ago...my garage wasn’t finished, but remember going to Kurt’s and about 4 others in the area. Loved it.

I would be down for anyone coming to see mine

I do remember a garage tour but didn’t attend. I do remember a perfect silver 912 that was at Summit Point around that timeframe. That had to be your Dad because there can’t have been too many perfect silver 912s around. Nice.

Yes, that was my dad. He's still got it and just swung by yesterday in it. Gorgeous car and I have many fond memories of riding in it and autocrossing it.

Thank you for contact information for the Chesapeake region's garage tours. I'll send them a message.

If there were enough interest in the Dorkiphus community, I would defintely be up for participating. Either as a spectator or a host. It would be a nice excuse to take a drive, and I really love seeing how other people are setup. That gives me more inspiration and motivation :)

A few months ago we had a few of the local 928's over for the day. Our garage is pretty plain compared to what I've seen elsewhere, though. Figuring out décor is not my strong suit!

What the hell, Chris? Who has a garage like that...it looks like it's out of a movie set!

Maybe a really bad b-rated zombie movie. The photos make it look better than it is.
