Pretty sure he is looking for someone to do this on the side for a lot less $ then a regular shop.

Not sure anyone would want the liability though.

My suggestion was based off of the title.

But yeah, "side work" can get iffy.

Yeah, definitely not a job for a traditional shop - either wouldn't take it, or would charge way too much. Looking for something a bit less formal, and more flexible.

Chuck,

Drop by GT Preformance in Edgewood MD.

This is the type of project that they do occasionally to keep the guys working during the off hours. Definitely informal and will take three times longer than planned.

You will like the price.

Good luck with your project.

^^^ This! Sigy and son Mike will take project cars from time to time and work at them slowly, or if you want it fast tracked, they will do that too.

They provide maintenance and factory scheduled services on all BMWs from then-to-now. In essence they have both the knowledge and the software to service the newer models and the knowledge and experience of the analog models. They know the E9 very well and also own at least one.

When is the last time you've been to a BMW shop and seen a V8 disassembled on one bench, a five speed disassembled on another, and an auto trans pulled apart on yet another, oh and a M30 6 cyl on the engine stand?

Lastly, should you decide to go there.. don't expect them to bend over backwards, give you a lot of smiles, and talk sweet to take your money. However, by the same token they won't give you a laundry list of stuff that you really don't need... if its on the list, the car needs it.. your choice to do it.
They are the best value in town for BMW done right. Period.

On the other hand, you can try this: https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...645801142.html
