WTB: USED Pirelli DH 245/645-18
 

Has anyone found a source for used/take-off Pirelli DH tires in a 245/645-18? This is the preferred size for the front of my 997.1 GT3, but because of the limited racing activities this summer, there are none to be had.

I have tried the usual suspects like:

Rennlist
Dorkiphus

Any leads, ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you try Yokohama or Michelin's? I found the Yoke's to be equal to the Pirelli's on my Cup car. Never used the Michelin's but heard they were very good.

Edit: I guess you have the rears already that's why you are just asking about fronts?

Dr K, will you be donating to my tire fund? If you're in for $1800, I'll pay the remaining $600 for a NEW set of Pirelli DH tires. :p

Can anyone really justify that cost for an HPDE event? I think not.

Try Todd at GT Racing. He mentioned getting in a truck yesterday, I'm assuming of more tires.

Yes and I used to get them mostly from Berget.

There's a reason I race a Miata in SSM - out there with 40-50 other cars all on RA-1s (about $650, shaved), which can last a season if you don't flat-spot them. I've never been able to understand people putting on really expensive tires for DEs unless they're doing the DE for test and tune before a race.

SP Main track record for an SSM is 1:26.837, with 107 HP on RA-1s. Do you really need $2000 tires to have fun?
