2001 Boxster
4 Attachment(s)
My wife found a 2001 Boxster listed for sale at her job a few days ago. We went to go look at it as a possible sportier replacement for my kids' Saturn. Turns out the car is basically too nice to give to the boys, so we are passing on it. Since it is a nice car, I thought I would list it here for y'all if anyone is interested.
It is a 2001 Boxster (base). Blue exterior with grey interior, 74K miles.
The good: - No signs of ever being in an accident.
- Appears to be all original paint.
- Normal wear in the interior, no tears or big damage spots.
- Top goes up and down normally.
- Top was replaced some time in the past and has a glass rear window.
- Drives, shifts and brakes very nicely.
- Front brake rotors and pads are new or nearly-new.
- I hooked up my Durametric, and there are some level 1 overrevs, but no (zero) level 2 overrevs. Also, no error or fault codes anywhere (and all the emissions tests are set to "passed").
- He's going to take the car to be MD inspected this week. From what I saw, the car should pass with no problems.
The not-so-good: - Tires are rock hard. They have plenty of tread, but need to be replaced.
- There's a high-pitched whine when the car is first started cold. It fades out in less than a minute. Owner says it's the power steering pump and is going to check the fluid level.
- Top fabric has some normal-appearing wear. No holes yet, but may need to be replaced at some point.
- Rear brake rotors and pads are about half-worn.
The owner's name is Jonathan, and he's asking $7500 for the car. He's from the UK and is over here for work. He's going back to the UK next month, so he's motivated to sell the car soon. You can reach him via email: jc678335@gmail.com .
