CDL Licensed?
Any Dorki's proximate to the northern DC suburbs that has a current Class A CDL license (commercial or non-commercial)?

I've purchased a toter-home. Pursuing MD's non-commercial Class A, which will also allow me tow a trailer over 10K lbs. I'm already working with a coach (coming from Richmond VA area) this weekend to learn & practice pre-trip inspection, test maneuvers, and on-road driving. Looking for someone to drive with me to MVA for actual test.

Gotcha - let me know if you find someone, as I may look to do the same at some point.

Too bad I gave mine up. I used to train school bus drivers and took them for their test. Make sure you know what 6% grade really means.;) The tester up here in the mountains would fail you if you couldn't answer it properly. Do you have air brakes? The pre-trip for that rattled a few of our drivers too.

Had a lot of fun working with the coach last weekend. We spent a lot of time working on the pre-trip inspection; I'll be practicing A LOT before I go for the test. And my rig does have air brakes, though I don't plan to tow a trailer with them, only electric (so I can tow with the pickup too). I think I now know how to do the 3 tests of the air brakes, do the parking brake "tug", and check & drain water from the air tank. :D We even spent some time towing my current trailer with the Toter, to make sure I could get out of the neighborhood. https://photos.smugmug.com/Upload-Fo...-hGP3pVw-M.jpg |
Whoa. Can that thing take a semi-sized trailer?
