Summer Internships?
Last year, my dad asked a question about Engineering schools when I was deciding which college to attend. The thoughtful responses from so many here helped me solidify my decision to attend Virginia Tech.
My first year went very well and I'm choosing to pursue Mechanical Engineering. I understand that many internships fill up early, and I am looking for any helpful advice on where to look for internships, recommendations for companies to look at, or for any tips on what to look for, or to look out for. Ian, Lockheed martin has a pretty healthy internship program...they actually start posting stuff in the next few weeks for next year...would encourage you to get on the Lockheed site and set up a profile...if you find and apply for something let me know and I can help get it to the front...tito

Tito,
That sounds like a great idea. I'll look into it. I hope you're enjoying my old E36 as much as I did; miss that car. |
you are welcome to come take it for a drive anytime...

I don’t work for Lockheed but I spend a lot of time at the campus where Tito is, and I second his recommendation. They’re a good group of people there.

NASA and NOAA do summer intern programs - don't know much about them but can find out if you are interested.
|
Tito, are you up in Chantilly?

I work regularly with a few M/E/P engineering forms that deal with buildings. If that aspect of mechanical engineering interests you I can pass on some contact info.

Hugh, I am at the LM facility in Manassas

Why VT and not Oregon State ? I know some dam fine mechanical engineers from Oregon State. Besides the mascot is much better especially when playing USC. |
