Rain Tires Recommendations...

I need some recommendations for rain tires for a 944 track car. I'm thinking about Yokohama A032R (225x50x15) with the soft compound.

Thanks,

George

Toyo Proxes RA-1, full tread.

Can't beat 'em short of Hoosier Dirt Stockers of their new DOT rains. Both Hoosiers are very spendy.

Yep, I posted this question on Rennlist last year and was told that the RA-1's were the ones to have for the rain. I have a set but have never run them.

I have run the dirt stockers and the A032Rs both in the rain at speed and the dirt stockers have the edge, but the Yokos where really nice and stable. Plus when/if they track dries, you still have a pretty decent tire. The RA1s are good too! We have so many decent choices these days! I remember back when the only ticket in town really was BFGoodrich. Man I loved the CompTA RA1s....

I too think AO32Rs work well for the $ and can be (noisy) street tires too.

Money no obgect. Go to Tony's post.

somehow i have a feeling that as soon as i spend MORE money to get wheels and rains, i will never see rain at the track... or it'll be a 10 min sprinkle

and yet...

My rain tire setup is a folding chair...

that's funny Kurt... I keep telling (fooling) myself that if it rains for an entire weekend straight, but I still get to drive it, then I'm "saving" my $200 that would be wasted if I sat it out... each day it rains, I'll take away $100 off my rain wheel/tire price hoping it *appears* balanced out

I went to the Hoosier site and only found DOT dirt tyres in 15” or smaller wheels. Did I miss the Dirt Stockers.
