Ruf RGT engine drop?

Anyone interested in helping? We've never done this before so need advice on equipment needed. We have most tools ever invented so that shouldn't be a problem.

We of course have the obligatory cooler and grill.... :D

Looking at the 9th or the 16th.

Betty, littleb has scheduled his engine drop on the 9th, so the 16th might be a better choice. You'll probably want to use the motorcycle/ATV jack and a tranny jack to lower the engine. Both are available within the Dorki community. A couple of floor jacks, jack stands, cinder blocks (or equivalent to raise the jack stands), and oil line wrenches will be required, as well. I remember that there were a lot of things to disconnect on my old 993, about 20% more stuff than on a Carrera, so you're RUF may be similar. Do you have a shop manual (hard copy or CD-ROM) to help ensure we get everything disconnected?

You sure you want the likes of us around that motor? It might get lost or something...

Come to think of it, I could use a motor right about now.

What's today's date? March 31. Hmmmm... I wonder if Betty has decided to get an early start on her April 1 festivities? I mean, asking this crew to come help drop a RGT engine? Betty, this is either a great joke or you are a hell of a lot braver than I thought - and I already thought you were pretty damn brave for instructing the likes of Pari and Ted.

Assuming this is not the case, the 16th is the date that works for me. What is the purpose of the drop? You're not, by any chance, looking to replace the engine with a 139,000 mile Carrera 3.2 unit, are you? Because I think I can arrange a swap.

Sound like Betty's 914 is getting a new powerplant....

Did someone say Ruf :D ?
I'm in for the 16th  !! MUHAHAHAHAHA

I could be in for the 16th, if we aren't getting our collective leg pulled.

Betty, I have an engine stand and yoke, THE famous engine pallet and Marc's ATV jack. Get some ziplock baggies, zip ties, maybe some 27-36mm oil line wrenches, a case of Pabst and we can knock this out in no time.

You won't have a hard time drawing a crowd for this one not matter the date, Betty.
