A friend of ours has a ’99 Boxster with a dead battery due to lack of use. She can get into the car with the key but can’t release the bonnet.
So my questions is how do you release the bonnet on a ’99 Boxster that has a dead battery? She says she can’t find it in the owners manual.

I remeber reading about this a while back, damn new cars.

Found these 2 ideas:

The hood latch cable runs up under the drivers side wheel well. There is a small panel that you can pull back and grab the cable from. It is a small black cable. Just grab it and pull and your trunk will pop.

Or, power the car though the cig lighter, with a charger.

remember seeing a car at intersport with the same issue. Seem to remember it was a real pain in the as% to reset al the electronics. I realize all this is not helpful in any way.
