Job networking.

I hesitate to mix business and Porsche-talk and hate to write about a serious topic. But it seems to me some of us may benefit from sharing job leads, career advice and networking opportunities. I'm sure the members of this BBS cover the whole gamut of tax brackets and job fields, and thus may be able to help each other in more ways than just fixing cars - maybe even making it possible for someone to afford to keep their car when times get tough. Personally, I have a sales job that's pretty much a hobby, not real tough and is rewarding in other ways than just money. But something in the back of my head is starting to push me toward looking for new challenges and more money. It's not that the current job doesn't have enough of both. It's just that sometimes, it's time to find greener pastures (and ways to upgrade to PSS-9's with 18" wheels).

So I guess the gist of my post is: Is there any interest in having such a category on here? Buehler? Anyone?

RL, I would've been glad to hire you to shovel my driveway today. I'll keep you in mind next snowstorm. 8)

I think there's merit to this idea.

I agree. While a being a good Porsche owner may not translate into a good employee, I think it's a wise way to find out what people do and help others find something to do. It's not what you know, it's who you know.

Ok . . . I see merit here as well . . . whoever doesn't send me a dollar within the next 5 days, guarantees that I represent thier wife should the occasion arise

PS: Va residents only

I say we beat him unmercifully with a 944 radiator hose and then strip his car!
:x

Richard,

Sounds like a good idea to me. I now know that I will not have a job as of July. So I am actively looking... The worst is that most leads are out of state. The best is that they are in warmer climates.

I really don't want to pack up the project and all those parts.

Mark, I missed the post yesterday. I guess I am past the 5 min rule. Will you take a late penalty. :)

Hey Jamie, I'd be happy to help you out there.
Seriously, I hope you can stay in the area, unless you find a great position in an area with 12 mo/yr Porsche driving...and a garage!
